Strong Strides: Running Injury Prevention & Race-Day Optimization
Whether it is your first big race or your 51st, gain your stride this running season by joining us for a comprehensive workshop designed to help runners of all levels prepare for race day with confidence.
Bright chiropractor and avid runner, Dr. Vanessa Cotter, is teaming up with yoga instructor, Meg Thorne, to provide you key tips and recommendations, including therapeutic yoga-inspired positions for running recovery, to help you cross the finish line strong.
By the end of the workshop, you will learn about:
Appropriate running shoe choices - Understand the importance of proper footwear and how it can help prevent injury
Fuelling your body for success - Proper fuelling is not just for the morning of race day - we’ll also discuss appropriate fuelling for training days and post-race
Activate, mobilize and recovery - Learn how pre-run activations and proper post-run recovery techniques can help you recover faster, including running focused yoga poses

ABOUT Dr. VAnessa Cotter
Dr. Vanessa Cotter DC, Bright chiropractor, was a varsity distance runner in university, and now competes in road races ranging from 5km up to half-marathon distance. She has a passion for helping others strive towards their goals and is eager to share her running knowledge.
ABOUT MEG THORNE
Meg Thorne, Bright Patient Experience Coordinator, is a chiropractic student and runs the wellness and yoga student-based program. She travelled to Peru to complete her Yoga Teacher Training (Vinyasa & Yin), to deepen her knowledge and expand her ability to help people of all mobility and life stages. Currently, Meg is training for her first half marathon and is eager to share her tips on how to keep yourself running ready.
